Primus
High power. Ultra-low noise.
The Stuttgart Instruments Primus is an ultrafast, mode-locked femtosecond oscillator, based on solid-state technology. It combines high average output power with a superior low noise level and excellent power stability. It is perfectly suited as pump source for frequency converters like the Alpha. The entire system is encapsulated in a solid CNC-cut and water-cooled housing, thus reaching excellent robustness against external perturbations.

Performance
The Primus is an ultra-low noise oscillator with excellent power stability (<0.25% rms) and Fourier-limited output with a time-bandwidth product below 0.35.
The relative intensity noise figure (right) shows shot-noise limited performance at -168 dBc/Hz from approximately 100 kHz onwards.
